Emma is fully qualified, equipped and experienced with any issues relating to the feet.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Corns
A corn is a small area of skin which has become thickened due to prolonged pressure. Roughly round in shape, corns press into the deeper layers of the skin and can be very painful.
Callouses
A callous is a toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation.
Fungal Nail Infections
Fungal nail infections mainly effect older adults. The infection develops slowly and causes the nail to become discoloured, thickened and distorted.
Verrucas and Warts
Verrucas and warts are small rough lumps that often develop on the skin of the hands and feet. Verrucas are a type of wart that occurs on the soles of the feet and present as flat in appearance.
Dry or Cracked Heels
The skin on our feet can often become dry, rough, flaky and sometimes cracks.
Diabetic Foot
The importance of footcare is widely recognised by healthcare specialists. Diabetics are more likely to develop problems with their feet. Check you feet regularly for cuts, grazes, blisters, callus and corns. Prompt treatment by a podiatrist will prevent complications developing such as infection or ulceration.
Biomechanical Assessments & Nail Surgery Procedures
As a specialist in home visits, I do not have access to the full facilities of a clinic. As a result, I do not provide biomechanical assessments or nail surgery procedures. For these services, I highly recommend Lorna Austin at The Podiatry Place in Sudbury
